Today we have made very good progress with great if robust conditions.  With the sea on the starboard quarter varying from 1.5 to 3.5 metres and the wind 20 to 25 knots on the beam Caduceus has been flying along and the crew hanging on to things as the contents of the inside of the boat make occasional attempts to redistribute themselves.  Looking back at the forecast for the immediate area of Ponta Delgada and we see winds of 30 to 35 knots so the decision to sail on Monday has been vindicated.  The daily run is one of our better efforts; a few days of that on our passage from Ascension Island and we would have taken considerably less than 28 days.
