La Coruna to La Trinite - Day 1

Slipped 5 minutes early at 0825, local time, followed by the other three boats taking part in this leg; Celtic Breeze, Avalon and Tillygreig.

Wind was light easterly which quickly faded.  We took a route further from the land and benefited as the wind filled in from the west at 12-15kts giving us an easy beam reach.  Whilst the wind had been light we set both the mizzen balloner and the gennaker and closed the engine down. The wind gradually rose to give us 15kts across the deck so down came the ballooner and gennaker.  In amongst these games we  saw out first wildlife in the shape of four dolphins.

Currently with full plain sail, 15kts of wind on the port beam laying the rhumb line course - very nice whilst it lasts.
