Farewell St Helena.  We have had a great and interesting time on the island.

All done, we departed from what had become a very rolly mooring at 1040 this morning; 20 minutes before our planned time, which must be something of a record.  One day soon we will look back with affection at the downwind sailing that we have had since leaving Cape Town.  Today was much the same as before we arrived at St Helena with enough wind to keep us moving between 5 and 6 knots.  Diesel conservation is important on this leg as we will require to motor through the doldrums after Ascension and acquiring replacement diesel is, we understand, very difficult on that island.

Yesterday Elizabeth met Karl who was our guide on the Whale Shark trip on Monday and he gave her some photographs that he had taken.  Elizabeth playing Jonah to the whale was too good to miss out.
