A Monday morning flight from Fort Lauderdale to Norfolk, via Charlotte, North Carolina, got me into Norfolk at 1400 where I was picked up by Gary Naigle the OCC Port Officer and reunited with Caduceus at the Atlantic Yacht Basin.

Gary and his wife Greta have been keeping a careful eye on the boat in our absence.  It was nevertheless a relief to find it in good order after four months closed up.  The remainder of Monday and all of Tuesday were spent de-winterising the systems and getting everything working again.  Cleaning the decks off was completed in the dark but the result made me feel that I was turning Caduceus back into a working operation.

All of the work was greatly assisted by unusually warm daytime temperatures; the diesel heating was appreciated when dusk fell and the air temperature plummeted.

Definitely no catering notes at this stage; nothing significant to report, chef/mate being in the rear party in Fort Lauderdale.
