A very short note as this is a catch up being written when on our next leg from Reunion to Richards Bay and where the conditions are less than conducive to typing.

We returned to Mauritius on 11 October and spent a week getting the boat ready to sail again.  The first boats of the World ARC Rally that we are rejoining for the trip to South Africa arrived over the weekend and we left on Monday having overstayed the theoretical 90 day limit set by Mauritius Customs before you require to place a bank bind for tax and duty on the boat.  The trip to Port des Galets was a short overnighter and with light winds we motored overnight, picking up a fresh breeze as we approached land to give us a good last few hours before arrival.  Reunion from a distance looks dramatic, some of the central mountains being over 3,000 metres.  Safely alongside the dock in the old fishing harbour we were met by the dock manager and customs who carried out a thorough check for items proscribed due to the presence of foot and mouth disease on Rodrigues and Mauritius.
