Langkawi to Phuket Day 4 (2) - Ao Chalong to the Yacht Haven Marina

Position 08:10.23 N 098:20.42 E Date 1545 (UTC+7) Sunday 20 December 2015 Distance run 30nm over the ground, 31nm though the water Trip total From Langkawi 166nm over the ground, 161nm through the water Having checked in it was a 30nm slog up the coast of Phuket Island to the Yacht Haven Marina. Boat Lagoon may be more convenient for Phuket City but it is difficult to get into, I suspect because of a large number of semi-permanent cruisers. Yacht Haven however is well set up, close to the airport and a benefits from not being surrounded by tall buildings. It was also where we had arranged to meet up with Dagmar and Christoph Hartung on our sister yacht Flomaida. Our track from Singapore to Phuket via Penang and Langkawi (Kedah) All objectives achieved we met up with Dagmar, Christoph and their daughter Mika and had the first of a number of meals in an excellent local Thai restaurant 300m from the marina. I was great to catch up on everything that happened since we last were together in Whangarei, New Zealand in April.
