A diary entry for our time in Reunion will follow at some stage.  Suffice it to say this is a very beautiful island with dramatic scenery which we have been able to see with the aid of a hire car.  The World ARC Rally boats arrived on 28 October and we were welcomed back into the cycle of parties and gets together.  This rally has only 15 boats for these legs and they have been very friendly and welcoming to us outsiders.  The departure on this leg to Richards Bay, South Africa depends very much on the skippers interpretation of the weather and the size boats.  Three of the smaller boats left on Wednesday, one catamaran left Monday as they had a requirement to arrive earlier than the rest and the remainder opted to advance the departure date from Saturday to Friday.

Not having taken on fuel since the Maldives we took advantage of duty free diesel at EUR0.58 per litre after clearing out and we were away from the dock by 0915.
