Everything having been made ready the night before we were able to take a leisurely farewell from our hosts at the Pilot House, Gary and Greta.

We hope that we did not outstay our welcome; thank you both for all of your help assistance and hospitality.

We retraced our steps down river, past the docks and naval; base.  As on our way up the river there was lots to see, including this submarine returning from sea and about to manouvered into a berth.

It took two hours motoring to get clear and out into Chesapeake Bay where we were able to make a pleasant day’s sail of 50 miles to Deltaville and Fishing Bay where we anchored at 18:25.

Elizabeth produced an excellent dish of pork fillet in mushroom sauce which we ate in the cockpit watching the sun go down over a beautiful anchorage.
