We, Flomaida and us, decided that there were two options to finish the passage.  We either pressed on hard and made about an average of 7 knots which would get us in late Tuesday afternoon or wallow and slap sailing very uncomfortably in not much wind, still end up motoring but not arrive until Wednesday morning.  Arriving in the dark was not an option.  We went for it.  The 24 hours had started with some great wind and fast downwind sailing.  This petered out around 2200 and from then onwards it was motoring with occasional sail assistance.  We have taken the opportunity to run the watermaker to fill the tank to maximum and even made a loaf of bread.
