The hard work in sorting out the cruising chute furler yesterday has given results as we currently have the correct sail up for the conditions and this gave a daily run of 160nm a distinct improvement on yesterday’s 135nm. The night was cloudless with a full moon and wonderful stars and this morning is similarly cloudless and beautiful sailing with four hours where we managed an average of over 8 kts which is not bad when considering the weight in stores and the like that we are carrying.  The forecast looks iffy however with lighter winds forecast if we go west too soon.

No time yet for fishing but I have been making Bill and Ben, the wind generator men, jealous by watering Little Weed, the solar panels. Yes, two days at sea and cracking up already; or more benevolently, washing off the dust.

The watch system seems to be working and we are both rather more rested than yesterday.

We may not be able to find time for fishing but catering is going ahead full steam. Supper last night was Sweet and Sour Pork with Egg Fried Rice and vegetables and we have just finished a great crab and avocado salad for lunch.
