Many of the boats departed San Francisco early.  We trusted to the organisation of the marina and spent a very pleasant day at anchor before departing in the afternoon for the final destination of the rally at Portosin.

Our confidence was well justified by a hammerhead berth where we entertained our Spanish hosts to drinks and nibbles as a small thank you and before the final Rally dinner got underway.

Spanish meal times are definitely late, something that we find easy to accommodate.  Aperitifs and canapés were scheduled for 21:00 in the marina yacht club; a new building with a fine dining room complete with a stunning view over the Ria.

I, Martin, dressed for the occasion in kilt piped Alfredo and Marguerita Lagos into dinner as our thank you for a wonderful ten days.  They were a little demused by this but quickly got into the swing of things as they received a standing ovation from the assembled crews.

A most excellent dinner of grilled prawns, in huge quantities, and roast pork followed and sometime after midnight Elizabeth and Judy, from Caper, entertained with singing, accordion and piano.  This encouraged others to tinkle the ivories and helped finish off the Rally in fine form.
