Yes we have eventually arrived and dropped anchor off the town of Kupang at 1345 in an onshore wind gusting to 30 knots and affair chop.  After all this time we have ended up in one of the most exposed unfavourable anchorages since we were in Niue in a westerly.  It was so rough that we did not even try and launch a dinghy and fit an outboard.  Still we are here for a reason, to check into Indonesia, and there are no alternative anchorages anywhere nearby that provide better shelter.  I have spken to the agent ashore by telephone and he assures me that it can but get better – now where have I heard that before.  Clearing in can wait until tomorrow

The daily run, or 25.75 hours of it does not reflect the fact that we had some unexpectedly brisk sailing approaching Kupang and overnight we did some bnot bad ghosting along and were able to save the diesel and arriving at our waypoint an hour after dawn.  The forecast for closer into Kupang showed 5 knots forth morning.  This ended up as 20knots plus gusting to 30knots.  The computer generated model obviously need s a new pine cone and some better seaweed.

We shall sit out today under our yellow flag and enter the arrival bureaucracy fray tomorrow refreshed.
