The morning started up with a rapid tidy around to prepare for a visit for coffee from Peter and Mary Lee of ‘Annie B’, OCC members that we met in Bucks Harbor and previously owners of an Amel Super Maramu 2000, ‘Norelia’.

We had a visit and conducted tour of Annie B in Bucks Harbor which was most interesting.  Tug and Trawler yachts are well suited to the conditions out here and not a design that is often seen in the UK.

The weather as they say was piping up and visibility dropping when we up sticks and set off for the 9nm to CamdenPulpit Harbor being a good size we were above to set the main and mizzen before leaving the harbour and with the genoa set soon after, all with two reefs in, we made a very steady 8kts in the 25 knots of wind.

The Camden Yacht Club kindly offers guest moorings to OCC members and we were put on the mooring of the OCC Rear Commodores, Doug and Dale Bruce, who are away leading the OCC Newfoundland Rally.  Whilst the mooring is quite a way out it is reasonably protected and the excellent Club launch service was able to get us ashore dry for a walk around the town.

Camden is dangerous – there are three really good book shops as well as some rather upmarket gift and clothes shops.  The views over the harbour in the sunshine will convey the idea that is a pretty and rather upmarket boating centre.
