We remained in the marina pending the arrival of a replacement
inverter. Nico, the Electec engineer, said that it would arrive by Fedex
at about 1600 Friday, 15th, and at 1630 I received a phone call from
him to confirm that it had arrived and what was better he would be round at
0900 Saturday to fit it and check the wiring. We have had excellent
service from the various companies here with the added bonus of good
technicians.
Elizabeth
did a large shop on Friday and the manager of the US Supermarket in Sandy
Ground delivered the goodies for her. Prices for many food and drink,
soft and otherwise, are reasonable and we wished to stock up for the
BVI’s and Bermuda where no doubt they
are not.
All things finished by 1400 and it was time to pack up cycles, the
passerelle and all of the other bits that seem to grow the longer we stay
connected to shore. Booking out of the marina took some patience,
remember this is the Caribbean but by 1600 we
were off to the fuel dock. This involved an interesting manoeuvre
backwards around a “catamoron” that seemed to have taken root on
the dock.
By 1700 we were at anchor in the bay making final preparations for an
1800 departure for the British Virgin Islands.
There is a two day wind window that we must catch as next week the forecast is
for very light conditions.
