We made an early, well for us, start for the sail up to Bequia, 28 nm including tacks.  Leaving the Cays and rounding the evil looking rocks of Mayreau Baline we were able to lay a course on the wind to Bequia and hold it at between 45-55 degrees off the wind for the whole leg managing good speed in 20-s5 kts of wind.  I am convinced that the time spent cleaning the rudder and keel in Chatham Bay made a big difference.

Rounding West Cay, the western end of Bequia we even tacked up into Admiralty Bay, real enthusiasm, coming to anchor off Princess Margaret’s Beach.

This proved a secure anchorage in so far as we did not move but increasingly rolly due to the swell overnight.  Tomorrow a move up harbour is required to get out of the swell.
