We should be getting good at this clearing business.  Back to Clifton, Union Island to clear out of St Vincent and the Grenadines.  This time we were met by James, who knows the form and who provided the buoy and water taxi to enable us to visit custom and immigration.

That completed we headed for Sandy Spit, a delightful mooring spot a mile from Hillsborough.  This is national park and well provided with secure mooring buoys.  25 knots of wind and waves rolling through meant that it was good for a tea stop but not good for an overnight stay so we motored on around the corner to Tyrell Bay which provided shelter and good holding.

One of the items that George and Janet brought out with them was a MacSween’s haggis.  This night was chosen for the ritual slaughter, somewhat early but it suited the occasion.  It was therefore ritually piped, addressed and killed.  Sorry to my mentor Willie Allan, this year I had to read the script – I promise to learn it before next year; he will however recognise the theatrics and the Quaich.

Tartan shorts were the closest I was going to get to national costume due to the heat.
