As you can imagine, relations on board can become tense. As we live in a small community we can see how things are going. And as you can imagine I cannot make any comments here that anybody could recognize, so I stay away from giving you any storys that would fit in a soap opera. What seem to be more visible or more frequent are problems on board yachts that are not "family". I do not think I have heard about anybody but one yacht in almost three years where the relations outside family worked out great with everybody. Quite the opposite as a matter of fact. One yacht here is sailed by a woman that takes on friends and moves around the world. Now she got 2 people that came from from Europe, one of them a man that promised to do a lot of work on board in exchange for a ticket to Fiji and to sail on from here. Now when he is here he does nothing according to the women, he just complains that it is to hot to work. So I was joking with them and suggested that they have to manipulate him to work. Don't ask me how we came to that, there was a lot of laughing and joking about strong women and men etc. Well I just loved the comment from one of the women, "how can you manipulate somebody when there is nothing to manipulate?" Well it is a tree in the rain forest...
