Update: 6:20PM HEAVY rain in Savusavu on Vanua Levu this afternoon flooded the pavement forcing students who returned from school to stay indoors of shops and supermarkets.
The heavy downpour also forced food parcel vendors sitting outside the market to close their business early. Shop workers stood at the doorway ensuring no one entered the shop with wet clothes. Outside the Copra Shed, people walked through ankle-deep water. Those who were enjoying the sea breeze by the foreshore crowded in the market extension to keep away from the rain and motorists drove slowly along the main street. The weather office reported a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain lay slow moving just to the North of Fiji. It is expected to move over the group tonight.
