Waterchannels are the lifeblood of agriculture in Madeira. And thanks to a goverment program they where made as public property. To maintain the Levadas, there is always a way to walk along them for the inspectors and workers. There are miles and miles of them in Madeira, a reason good enought to go there just to walk in wonderful landscapes with breathtaking views. With the children we could not walk far, but i was good for us to get  a sense of what it is.

You hear a lot of cocks, goats lambs etc in the valleys

All this water makes you aware of your needs

In the morning before leaving we had our windinstrument fixed by a very good technician
