Breakfast: Home made yougurth with banana and
mussli (Yes Ellinor sets a new yougurth every day for the next day)
Lunch: Right before descition was to be taken on
what to eat a poor Mahe Mahe (4-5 Kg) took a bite on our rubber octopus, within
20 minutes it was served with cous cous and fried food
bananas
After that the line was rigged for another fish, we
had to much luck. Whoever that took that rubber octopus was so big it pulled out
the entire line from the rod within 10 seconds and SNAPP! off it
went.
So I picked up the reel with spare fishing
line to reload the rod and realised the first 50 meters where set as hand line
for fishing from the boat. So I had to let that out before cutting it off and
use the rest in the rod. Why not try one of the squids I picked up on deck this
morning? We had about ten in the fridge. Saved because we learned from Sirius
that they could be prepared in a seafood pasta (recipe from them further
down).
So I let the squid out on a big hook and Erika and
I started to load the reel with new line. After 10 minutes the bungy was
stretched out and we pulled in another big nice Mahe Mahe!
Dinner: Cooked rice, Ratatui and Mahe Mahe dipped
in a Louisiana mix, very good!
What is the different between an Ocean and a
Sea?
Right answer is
An Ocean has currents.
Here the current is great, because it makes us feel
like we are good sailiors. we run at speeds between 7 and 9 knots in a 12-14
knots wind!
The waves have been a bit bigger today, catching us
from the side, but far from uncomfortable.
We have the wind from the side wich makes this
passage fast so far, we have made 170 nM on the second 24 hours
And here is the mail from Sunrise with the recipe
on Calamares found on deck:
......Yes the
squid was quite fun. We took the body and tentacles, cut into 2-3cm
pieces, minus the head, guts and 'bone', dipped in egg then breadcrumbs, and
shallow fried just for about 5-6 minutes. We got 8 more yesterday, and
shallow fried them in oil and garlic. .....
