Sunday morning, we had just taken a morning swim in the 30 degrees of salt water, then showered on the bathing plattform and now sitting in the cockpit in t-skirts and shorts. There is nothing else we can wear in this temperature.
We are having our wonderful breakfast with home made yogurt, homemade muesli and home baked bread. We are sitting in the shade of the bimini and it is very quite around us. In the middle of the meal, Erika suddenly looks up and asks "how much money did we have when we started this journey?"
I was surprised but answered how much. Andreas looked at me and asked "how much is that?". I said "you can buy a brand new car for that money".
We kept on eating, Erika looked around and said like in a thought "Im really glad we did not buy a car", "So am I" filled our little man.
Ellinor and I looked at each other and we both felt that this gave some perspective to what we have done. Other than investing in the boat, which of course is a lot of money but hopefully we get some back, the choice could be between buying a brand new car or take off for three years.
Three years of freedom, was it worth a car?
