Wensday we just made a full day excursion with Mary Joe around Hiva Oa. A great day with a lot of sceneries. For once we can post pictures and story at the same time!
This is Mary Jo and Erika
A nice thing about being out with local knowledge is that you can try
things you would not dare to touch. What do you say about berries that
look and taste like raspberries?
Next thing that happened was that Ellinor asked Mary Joe who owns a banana tree here in the forest? And she said, nobody.
Do you want a banana stock?
Sure!
Do you have a knife?
A swiss army knife is all we have.
No problem!
And she cut down the whole tree with bananas. Unfortunately I was helping to get the tree down so I got no good
picture of it falling....
Here Mary Joe walks off with the prey
We follwed the coast on the North side of the island
Mango!
Do you want Mango?
No problem and suddenly we had a whole sack of them...
The kids wanted to stop for the goats of course
The goat: "How come you and I have the same hair color?
Lunchtime with fresh baguettes and picnic we brought
Andreas went for cocos, and of course seeing what Mary Joe had done with
bananas he asked. "can I borrow the knife?"
"For what?"
"We can have coconuts"
"So what are you going to do with the knife?"
"Cut down the tree"
