We were moored at Darsena (jetty) 2, berth 302 (the long jetty in the middle) inside a closed gate.
What a windy blowhole.

This was our third wintering spot after we sailed around the world and entered The Med through The Red Sea and the Suez Canal.
First winter was Aghios Nikolaus, Crete GR, second Licata, Sicily IT and now the third on the mainland of Spain.
All of them are with sailing communities, which we prefer and like. Much more activities though in Aghios and Licata.
And all three are very reasonable priced during the winter period. You make a contract for 7 months during low season.
In Almerimar we paid 3 193 Euro for 212 days, ca 15 Euro/day.
Aghios was a public marina close to a genuin greek little town.
Licata is a modern booring marina without any atmosphere. But Sicily has a lot to offer.
Almerimar is a new built "tourist ghetto", no atmosphere at all.
A lot of Germans and English around.
Apparently it is cheap to live here. The rent of an apartment is very reasonable compared with Spanish city areas.
There are more and more German sailors around as-well. Using their yachts as floating "summer huts".
Cheaper then buying something on land.
Golf seems to be a big thing here. A lot of visiting oldies from Sweden.
On our jetty we had some interaction with our sailing neighbours. And we met a couple of Scandinavian sailors.
So how did we spend our time?
As usual a bit of fixing the yacht. Daily walks. A bit of cycling exploring. Bus to town, El Ejido.
Once a week we met some Swedes and had some tapas.
Tapas is a big thing in Almerimar.
There are plenty of restaurants using the same concept. A glas og wine or beer always comes with a tapas.
We were altering between 5 at the end. And this takes place during daytime, like lunch or late lunch.
Price inkl tapas 3 to 4 Euro. Means you could have lunch for two inkl wine for 12 to 15 Euros. A very good deal.
And we love tapas.
Dinners were more depressing. Most of the time we cooked by ourself. More tasty and much more value for money.
There was one exception, a just perfect cooked cod at The Galley.
Christmas / New Year we spend in The Hague together with Sara and her family. Great time.
Then we rented car a couple of times and visited Sierra Nevada, Gibraltar, Grenada, Ronda, Jerez ...
Jerez one of the favourites. Genuine place. A lot of Spanish visitors. Sherry tasting and flamenco.
A highlight was the visit to Barcelona exploring and having meals at local bars together with our whole family and some of Karolinas friends.
A room full of life. 5 kids and 9 adults. Wow. A lot of action. The Down Under people really enjoyed it.
We love Barcelona. There is always something to do, visit or explore.
Our plan is to find a berth there coming winter. Port Masnou might be an option.
