Alcudia, Mallorca, Spain 13 May 39 50 15N 03 07 84E

Now we have started the engine and hoisted the sails.

On May 8 we left Almerimar and sailed/motorsailed, mostly engine (47 hours = 165 liter of diesel), 388 Nm here to Alcudia on the Balearic Island of Mallorca. It took 70 hours, i.e. 3 nights. A little tired in the body and mind but everything worked well with Sans Peur and us.

It really feels good now with a few days of rest before we continue to Sardinia about 300 Nm away.
Seems like the winds are blowing in the right direction on Thursday.

We are well anchored at 3 m in sand. Feels safe. We like Alcudia, especially now that it's not packed with tourists.
Today was the first good kebab in a very long time plus 1 liter of San Miguel. Not often they serve these at the bodega. Perfect meal today.

Today we are going to visit a non-touristy tavern/bodega, Puerto de Mar, on a back street.
We've been there before so we know what to expect. Good tapas food and small dishes and good wine at local Spanish prices and a nice genuine Spanish atmosphere. We really like that.

We are on our way to Crotone on the Italian mainland to repaint the hull. From Almerimar we counted 1300 Nm approx. So, when we get to Sardinia, we are halfway. To repaint the hull there is 50% cheaper than in Spain. A lot of money to save. The hull  will be midnight blue AWLgrip again.

From Sardinia we will most probably go through the Messina Straight.

Not very good weather here right now it's changing rapidly from day to day today the sun is out yesterday it was raining crazy and a bit chilly.
Water temperature we just measured, 20 C.

Skip O'ahoy we are on track again and dear readers we will keep you informed.
