We have sampled a number of anchorages all around the main island of Langkawi and this is our favourite for a number of reasons…..it is totally protected from the nasty weather that comes with the wet season….the South-West Monsoon…..and we are starting to feel the first brushes with its wrath.  Also other factors: no buzzing around us from day tripper tourist boats, no fishermen, water is good for making water, and we are only about an hour of sailing to reach Kuah town for provisioning.  The biggest factor though is the protection from weather….we have lost sleep a few nights with ocean swell coming into our anchorage and rolling us severally….NON STOP….so sleep, in those conditions, is rare.
