Just stopped here for the night to make the distance from Ko Lipe to Phuket manageable in daylight hours. Got a surprise call as we started out from here in the morning…S/V Kanaloa, an Oyster 55 launched in 1998 with owners David and Val from the UK called on the VHF to say hello and to see if our paths might cross to spend some time together and share our Oyster cruising stories.  Does not look like we will cross paths this time….but some other time we hope. They are off to the Andaman Islands which is territory of India to the west of Thailand between here and Sri Lanka….reports of those who have cruised there rate it very good.

Next stop Ao Chalong…to handle all the formalities of checking into Thailand ….. Immigration for us, Customs for Sea Mist and Port Captain to make some money off us while we anchor in this main port of Phuket.
