Photos - Thailand: Chiang Mai - Tigers Part 1
The Tigers of Chiangmai We have always enjoyed the big cats and found out that we would be able to spend time with a tiger cub… We chose a young fellow, he was only 6 weeks old and his name was KiWi. The tiger park is there to protect the animals and they have been very successful with the birth of cubs, and today have 28 tigers in the park. The poachers are decimating the numbers of tigers in Sumatra for one, so these parks are becoming very important in preserving the lives of the big cats. I remember seeing a documentary about tigers and how they can blend into the shadows, you could not see him when he was in amongst the trees and grasses. This is KiWi, big, big paws and quite a cheeky little fellow. This was as good as playing with the Cheetahs in South Africa, petting a tiger! Awww don’t go. This guy loved having his photo taken, he was posing the whole time. Some of the other tigers were not too interested in us so they would turn their heads, roll with their backs to us, but not this bad boy. |
