We decided to give up on waiting for the weather to become pleasant and set today as deadline to finally pull up our deeply hooked roots in Newport and get on our way. And the surprise was a pleasant sunny day…first day to expose the skin since arriving in the USA….first half of the summer was a right off on weather with loads of rain and fog and cold temperatures.

Came 100 nm today to the REAL home of sailing in America…Marblehead, Massachucetts. Will have a couple of days to roam around here and next door in Salem (to check out the witches)…before moving on to Goucester….home of The Perfect Storm story.
