Just checking in….we had a very successful time in the New York City area….managed to get dental work handled…medicals/lab work to maintain our health check ups…and great times with friends and former work colleagues. Today was the time to move on….couldn’t choose a good timing for departure from Stamford to come down the East River so it was a slow 50 nm with 25 to 30 kts of wind on the nose and current against us all the way…but we accomplished our goal >> we made it to anchor at Sandy Hook just as it got dark and are now set up for a non-stop run to the Chesapeake with the wind at 15-20 kts on our stbd beam or a bit back of that….plans are to stay Thursday night at Norfolk, VA and then make the 120 nm north to Annapolis on Friday with the wind behind us…. if all goes as forecast.
