Location Report - Belitung (NW Corner - Tg Kelayang)
02 33.173 S 107 40.511 E Dropped anchor here at 8:15 am today, Friday. Had to burn a lot of diesel on this passage from Borneo…about 35 hours of engine time! Just no wind….and SLOW…due to opposing current a lot of the way…sometimes for periods it was 2 kts or more against us. Cheryl and I got into the nice clear water as soon as we had the normal things sorted out on-board that follow a passage….great to get in the water…but not very “refreshing” >> water temp 31 C (87.6 F)…a bit warmer than the Bay of Fundy in the summer. I did a quick scrub of waterline to keep on top of that maintenance demand. S/V Kilkea (David and Marian) came by to say hello…they are anchored just behind us…..and S/V Miss Behaving (Justin, Debbie, Riley and Hailey) dropped by as well to fill us in on some of the happenings here…all sounds good…..we should enjoy this location for a couple of days. DTG to Singapore: 330 nm …….(with one last stop in Indonesia to handle formal check-out paperwork to exit the country. We plan to have a few days in Singapore before we begin the Sail Malaysia Rally the first week in November….no rest for the wicked as they say) Cheers, the Seamisters |
