I lost my photos of the palace, our hotel, the streets around Hue, so I have only a few of the Incense factory and Vietnamese Hat Factory.

I caught this little guy at the market.

One day we went out into the countryside to see how they made the conical hats and incense sticks.

This is the touristy factory.  Our driver took us to a family owned incense stick factory and when we arrived their young daughter was rolling the sticks.  She showed me how to do it – it looked easy enough but you have to get the stick a certain thickness and it has to be even without finger marks. 

After being very patient with me, look what we made!
