Photos Bora Bora - Part 1
This is our last taste of French Polynesia. We arrived
on Sunday and met up with some of the cruisers we have been sailing with since
Panama. We had cocktails & dinner on board Sea Mist to start our stay
in Bora Bora! Relax on the beach, snorkel off the reef, tough life this
retirement. This This is a shot of the moon rising over the mountain. The inner harbor of Vaitape. Ian and I were waiting
for John, a unkempt looking guy approached us & asked us if we wanted any
black market black pearls, started to tell us more when he disappeared.
He found us later and I went to look at his Black Pearls, he wanted $50 us for
a pearl that was marked with yellow streaks that would never wash off, thanks
but no thanks. The stores don’t have to worry about him taking away
some of their business. I have some photos of the local shops in Viatape. I’m not sure what all of these small stores sell??? The local fish market. The local grocery store. We ate at the St. James Restaurant and this little fellow
belongs to the restaurant. Fleas, fleas, fleas, if I could just reach this one. I wonder what’s for dinner? John and some other cruisers went for a hike up MT. Pahia What a view…you really get a good look at the barrier
reef. Happy to be back down! It had been raining and so the climb was very muddy as you
can see. They have ropes to help you get up some of the steeper parts. |
