Changing weather (wind direction and
strength… and sea state) has made for a very busy last 48 hours…and
slowed us down a bit but still showing a possibility of making St Lucia on the
22nd …..but slipping towards the 23rd if more of
the same continues. We expect to be at the HALF-WAY POINT at approximately noon
UTC tomorrow if all goes well. Crew have got used to the environment and are
doing better with it everyday; soon they will make my presence unnecessary. One
other sail boat went by us this morning under motor on way to Antigua: Imagine
the size of it and with fully paid crew…no owner on-board as the owner(s)
fly into Antigua on the 20th to
join the boat. The boat is Ganesha and is 39m LOA with a bean of 8 m.
Makes Sea Mist seem like a bathtub toy….BUT…we were sailing and he
was jealous as he couldn’t sail the boat with the prevailing wind direction
….can’t do “pole-out” and we can. DTG: 1449 nm
