We arrived mid-afternoon yesterday at Rebak Island Resort and Marina. It was a very fast motor sail from Penang averaging 9 kts!

It finally feels like we have now “retired”….a very different sense of things than the 7 years in this life so far. Our plans call for us doing land travel (air/bus/train/car/feet/…) for the next couple of years as we explore Asia and South East Asia with the boat being our home base to come back to in between trips….likely moored in Malaysia, but could mix it up by locating the boat some of the time in Thailand.  Visas are much easier to manage in Malaysia than in Thailand……and the boat can really stay indefinitely in the country with no issues.  We just now need to start to develop a plan for the next couple of years; the plans we had brought us to Langkawi as a destination ….and now that we are here……we have to start planning for our land excursions.

The only commitment we currently have is a trip to Canada next July and August  (tickets now in hand) to spend some quality time with family and friends >>>> especially with our two grandchildren : Elizabeth – will be 10 when we see her and Alex will be 7 by then ….so we are most excited to look forward to a Canadian summer with them.
