Chauk Htat Gyi Buddha, the reclining Buddha.

We were told that this reclining Buddha is the largest reclining buddha in the world; the only problem is they had to build posts and beams to install a protective roof ….and that makes it impossible to get a complete picture of the Buddha.

A Da Vinci style smile.

Along with that enigmatic smile the longest ear lobes!

World Peace Pagoda or Kaba Aye Pagoda

The walls were made up of a mosaic of mirrored glass tiles, truly one of my favourite pagodas.

I liked the background here for the Buddha image.

They also had paintings to show the daily lives of people as they worshipped and travelled around.

There are souvenirs hawkers at each temple and pagoda, they have so much stuff at each stall you wonder how any of them can make a living.
