We did get underway this morning just after 6 am; should arrive Lady Musgrave about 3 pm.

Gorgeous day for sailing!...most enjoyable way to start the cruising season with blue skies and following seas - under a meter and 15 kts of breeze giving us a broad reach at about 6-7 kts of boat speed.

Water temp has dropped considerably with the last 2 or 3 weeks of cooler overall weather….and considerably cooler nights getting down to 15-17 C.; current water temp is showing 24.6 C  (76.3 F). Clear signs that winter is approaching in this part of the world.

We may find that a bit chilly to say the least when it comes to swimming at Lady Musgrave.

It looks like we will have to progress 200-300 nm north before we reach warmer tropical waters…..and that distance will put us in the Whitsundays which is where we are expecting the best cruising grounds to be found on our 10 weeks of cruising to arrive Darwin about July 8th.

All is well with Sea Mist and her crew….john and Cheryl…cheers!
