Bar Harbor turned out to be a most enjoyable and pretty town…bigger than we had expected. Mix of fog and sun but on balance more of the good stuff over the 3 part-days that we were there….but TERRIBLY thick fog the rest of the time.

We motor sailed 40 nm today over to this anchorage in an unspoiled harbor just northeast of Jonesport. Beautiful sand beach…only one other small sailboat…otherwise our own private refuge. The beach looks so inviting but the water temp at 57 F / 14 C obliterates any thought of swimming…..brrrr…..cold breeze over the water enroute today…but delightfully sunny and pleasant here in the anchorage.

We will cross into Canadian waters tomorrow; not yet sure whether we will stop overnite in Eastport or keep right on going to St Andrews or McCarthy’s Point/Pocologan. ….time will tell.
