Now anchored in Hamilton, Bermuda....all is fine after the Passage from St Maartens
32 17 N 64 48 W The wind carried us over 90% of the way up
from St Maartens a great passage!!...but then at midnight last night we had to
switch to engine power as Mother Nature had decided to breathe more gently and
from the wrong direction (South-West)….and that change would just not carry
Sea Mist effectively any further. All went smoothly with the formalities in St
Georges mid morning today and a couple of hours later we had sailed the 20
miles to the west end of Bermuda – Hamilton - where we are anchored amongst
a few little attractive islands in Hamilton Harbour. Next steps will be to study weather for
the passage to Newport so that we can make a plan for that next big event soon
to kick off as we take Sea Mist the final legs to our home and native land –
Canada – the true north strong and free….with a little visiting
time enroute to explore our friendly neighbour to the south…the good old
U S of A. ……..look out we’re coming!! DTG > Zero |
