We have been anchored at Ensenada Playa Grande the last couple of days; this being our third Las Perlas island stop. The island is privately owned and no cars on the island other than that of the owner. It is the 2nd largest of the Las Perlas Archipelego (about 6 miles long and 3 miles wide). The island is otherwise unpopulated but the owner has an air strip as we saw one aircraft come and go.

The beach goes forever but it is has been very tough to make beach landings with the dinghy as the swell has been huge and very difficult, if not impossible, to manage for landings. And of course there are NO docks at any of these islands so that is not an option.

Cheryl and I had a good time on the beach here  for a couple of hours this afternoon…Cheryl taking photos and gathering shells…..and I went for a great 3 mile run on the sand.

We will set sail at dawn tomorrow, Saturday, March 27th to begin the 900 nm to Galapagos. We will update as we make progress.
