St Martin has proven to be a terrific place for sourcing anything for the boat
– the finest chandleries, supermarkets, technical services, scuba, etc.
We replaced our house battery bank and a few running rigging lines as well as
replenishing a number of spares….good prices and no duty or tax!
Our guests arrived earlier in the week
from Toronto and we have now moved out of the rather
dirty Simpson Bay Lagoon on the Dutch side and headed north/west along the
French St Martin where we have resumed the enjoyable swimming in the clear,
turquoise Caribbean waters we have come to
love. Now anchored in Grand Case where one of St Martin’s
finest beaches is backed by a long line of the finest French restaurants you might
want to experience….so we are told….as we continue to count on Chez
Cheryl’s!
Today we need to choose between sailing
the short distance over to Anguila, a British island to take in its beaches and
marine parks or continue around the north and east of St Martin to highly
recommended anchorages there…tough choices but that is the type of heavy burden
one must carry in this life.
