Photos: Singapore February revisit - Part 1
We decided to return to Singapore to renew our visa for Malaysia and to take in some of the highlights of Singapore we missed the last time we were there. Our first night we ate at Clarke Quay, all of those buildings and umbrellas are restaurants. The hardest part was deciding which restaurant to eat at. Singapore is a very vibrant city with the older colonial buildings mixed in with the soaring skyscrapers. These are usually called shop houses, when I first heard people referring to them I thought they were saying chop houses... This looks like a Viking helmet. We paid attention to where the buildings were in the city as we would try to pick them out at night atop the Marina Bay Sands. Old colonial style buildings. You see clothes hanging out of the windows of apartment buildings all over Singapore, this is the way they dry their clothes. And many, many shopping centres. |
