12 28.15 S 130 49.52 E Getting our formalities sorted out: · On arrival, we anchored in the dark at Fannie Bay · Next morning, moved over to Cullen Bay Marina for Aquatic Biosecurity hull inspection and disinfecting to kill any foreign bugs in our salt water systems · Moved next to Fisherman’s Wharf for duty free fuel at Bailey’s Fuel · Onward to enter Tipperary Waters Marina lock …..before tide too low · Tied up at A15 …..our mooring location for the next 18 days Back to “land life” sort of ….using shore/marina facilities for showering etc is our reality now….can’t discharge any grey or black water into the marina environment….sort of a bath-tub since it is behind locks to keep water in the marina About 40 – 50 other rally boats are in this marina so it will be an interesting social environment getting connected with everyone over coming days. Other rally participants will remain at anchor in Fannie Bay awaiting the rally start…..and still others are moored at Cullen Bay Marina or at Bayview Marina….both of which are in this same vicinity of Darwin….where the city center is located on the end of a peninsula jutting out into the shallow Darwin harbour. |
