40 miles as the crow flies, but with very lumpy seas progress was slow, more like 70 miles of tacking in 12 hours and a few hours of motor sailing to get here in daylight and avoid the numerous very poorly marked lobster pots. All in northerly winds and it wasn’t even sunny, a bit of an endurance test especially the “spot the invisible pot” game at the end . Anchored at 10 pm next to a neon lit massive catamaran tucked up behind the harbour breakwater in Peniche, a well protected anchorage.
Only birds on the beach on this grey morning. Supposed to get up to 26 degrees later.
Making our way north to leave the boat for return trip to UK - somewhere reasonably priced and close to an airport!
