Great excitement today. Crane booked for 1pm to lift the mast, so riggers arrived early to complete the rigging and walk the mast on a trolley all the way round the yard to our spot. The two young riggers rarely get the opportunity to unpack and assemble a brand new mast so they were like children at Christmas. Great to see their enthusiasm.
A went off to Four Jays to fill gas bottle (no… gas is petrol; propane is gas ed.), weather forecast to be good over the weekend so a queue formed. People getting ready for bbqs. Stopped off too to buy connectors for the deck light(F’s job to do the electrics) and coffees. A 12 minute drive to closest coffee shop. We have no water on board yet - can’t fill tanks until we’re in the water & certainly not from our “well“ of uncertain quality

Hearts in mouths as crane lifts the mast onto the deck. A little bit of swinging in the breeze, but the riggers controlled it well.

All good. Phew. A few minor “dimensioning “ issues with fitting a new mast, built in France & partially assembled in the USA. More parts arriving on Wednesday to remedy this🤞
when riggers return to fit the boom and do the final tune.
A dispatched for coffees again - really in need of something stronger. That’ll have to be later.
