Mousing

Lovely day, with a warm southwesterly. Huge plus for boat maintenance.
Reeved, ie put on, two lines to support the mast when the back stays are freed to allow the boat to fit in the hoist. They want to move us so we’re not blocking the quay
When all the lines and ropes were removed two years ago, thin mousing lines were attached and fed through so we can reverse the process when we need to reeve all the lines again. No confidence in these thin mousing lines surviving another winter, so all had to be replaced. The risk is they suffer from wear and tear from rubbing and from UV damage, so couldn’t risk leaving them.

Further work done to the prop and A sanded the cockpit table ready for oiling. Unfortunately managed to sandpaper thumb print, so touch Id no longer working! Not the first time, she never learns.
Tape used for the wrap left residue which had to be removed with acetone. It had also removed some paint. Note to wrap man to protect some of the surfaces prior to sticking.
Supermarkets already stuffed with Halloween merchandise, including a limited edition Pumpkin Harvest Ale. Not recommended. Pumpkins galore everywhere
