A spent morning driving 100km to
Bridgwater and back. A trip down memory lane revisiting the town we first went to by boat in 2019. A pointless trip in search of a small cable gland to fit a 15mm hole. 2 problems here- cable glands known as strain relief connectors in Canada, and all the boat fittings are metric. All Canadian fittings imperial. A had to do a show and tell with the old one. None small enough were available. At first electrical suppliers, A asked for 10 feet flexible hose only to be told 3 metres! As consistent as in the UK.
5 electrical retailers later, A admitted defeat returned to F and the boat with welcome coffees from Tim Horton’s, a Canadian institution. Glands ordered on Amazon - of course!
F meanwhile serviced the steering and auto helm, very conscious nothing has been running or tested thoroughly for nearly 4 years.
