An unexpected surprise

It is a nature reserve and numbers of visitors onto the island are restricted. However, numerous kayakers and tour boats go in and out of the marina a stone’s throw away.
More rocking and rolling and a late start to go to Ponta Delgado to check in( have to do so in each port of entry) A couple of blunders, first hadn’t calculated the distance correctly, then realised would arrive during their lunch break so our start very delayed.
It was worth it!! We were treated to a magnificent display of bottlenose dolphins and their antics. Some leaping and breaching, most swimming alongside and underneath. So many of them and so close to the boat in such clear water, the best we have witnessed.
