Left Twillingate this morning with northerly winds again. The cruising guide warns of raucous seas in these winds, an unusual but accurate description. Had to motor into it and were surprised to encounter a small fishing dory going down into the harbour.
At least the sun shone on the rolling seas and once in Notre Dame Bay with the wind behind, had a gentle sail down to Lewisporte. 1100 miles completed since Lunenburg.
Notre Dame Bay is a favoured cruising ground amongst locals and it’s dotted with numerous islands, large and small. Something to look forward to next year.
Clarey was on the dock to take our lines, plus Bert who’d sailed in, just in front of us. It was a novelty seeing a sailing boat out on the water, virtually none spotted since clearing into Canada again on 1st September. Always grateful to have some help tying up.
In a marina, Atlantic Canada’s largest and not on a fishing wharf for a change.
