Dusty old place

Another long day and a hot one. 27 degrees. Made decision to make tonight last night in Airbnb and to leave the boatyard tomorrow. Made easier by the kind man from the Lunenburg wharf phoning to check if we still wanted a berth.
Electronics completed. Wifi booster installed. Water tanks filled. Unfortunately, managed to fill the bilges too. The seals on the tanks’ inspection hatches are notoriously tricky. Hey ho. One step forward……
It is such a dirty dusty place. Loads of boulders are constantly being tipped to reinforce the sea defences. A lot of chain-sawing wood too, so sawdust also drifts onto the boat.

Our long series of hoses were laid out for the water tank, so a thorough last wash of the decks and cockpit before rolling them all up.
The lobstermen arrived back with their catch and immediately offered us a couple at a good price. We couldn’t say no. The only kitchen utensils and dishes we have on board are those we used in the motel and Airbnbs. The rest are boxed up in the store. Pans were still there, fortunately but it was going to be a challenge. A was despatched to buy garlic mayo, bread and chilled white wine, while F boiled the lobsters. We managed with a rusty serrated dive knife, a hammer and a bonus - some wooden skewers left on board to reach the parts that cutlery won’t! A feast.

A gloriously warm evening. Left the boat as the sun was setting. Ducks not quite in a row
