Musical beds

Moved out of the Airbnb on Thursday into Island Villa for 3 extra days, so we thought, but still not enough, so musical beds once more. Packed up on Sunday, moved everything into the car only to check back in to another room upstairs later in the afternoon but only until Tuesday. Fully booked then, so no other option. The rooms are amazing with a fully functional kitchen- large fridge/freezer, large cooker, large microwave and very large crockery suitable for very large portion sizes.
Out of the blue- Monday was a beautiful warm and then hot sunny day. Our view of the marina outside our Island Villa was fabulous.

Wanted to get the mainsail on, realised F would have to go up the mast. Hadn’t used mousing lines for the lazy jacks - lines holding up the sail bag, so F had to climb up to feed them through. It worked very well with the folding steps on the mast and with use they are becoming easier to open. What a sky for Victoria Day.

Once the mainsail was laid out on the pontoon, the battens were fitted and it was tied into a roll; with the clever use of pulleys and winches, it was then lifted up to sit on the boom so the individual cars could be slid onto the mast and the bag zipped up.
Our neighbouring boat over the winter organised the first “gathering “ of the year to which we were invited. Ten of us ordered Chinese takeaway which we ate in the club house, after a productive days’s work for one and all. Much better than the microwave meal we had planned. That’s in the clubhouse freezer for tonight!
The weather wasn’t to last. Today the sky is very grey with rain threatening. Now checked out of Island Villa and back on the boat. We have a bunk to sleep in but nowhere to sit! Still a long list of jobs to do…..
